For about 8-10  roti’s

Ingredients

  • 4 cups whole meal chappati flour
  • 2-3 tablespoons oil
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt (according to taste)
  • water to make dough

Rub the oil and salt into the flour. Than make a soft dough with the water, adding a little  at a time. When you have made the dough rub it with a little oil, to stop it from drying. Make small round balls and then roll them out as pancakes. Toast the chappati on a heavy griddle (tava). As the first side toasts turn it over. cook this side then turn it over and toast the first side again. You may press the sides and you will notice that the roti puffs up, be very carefull, and avoid the steam. When both sides are toasted your roti is done. You may brush a little bit of butter over it. Keep it covered and warm in  a kitchen towel.
